Twins Snatch Late Win
|
Luis Esquivel had a strong outing for the Minnesota Twins against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-1 win. Minnesota reliever Nate Norris was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Chris Henderson took the loss. Detroit now is 0-4.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Tony Ellen to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Twins on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You just play the game as right as you can and see where you end up," said Twins manager Jimmy Johnson.
