Giants Rally to Beat Diamondbacks, 4-2
|
The San Francisco Giants took Arizona pitcher Ernie Cooper's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Oracle Park. The final score had San Francisco getting past the Diamondbacks, 4-2. Cooper went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. The Diamondbacks fall to 6-14 and continue their lackluster start in 2050.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Perri Cox came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Arizona pitcher Tetsuya Fujii, he hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting San Francisco on top, 4-2.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Cox.
