Pittsburgh-Las Vegas Deal: DuArez for Correale Friday, July 23rd , 2055 The Pirates announced today the acquisition of 30-year old RHP Ethan Sobers and 30-year old RHP Jon Correale from the Las Vegas Flamingos in exchange for 22-year old minor league RHP Taysom Lincecum, 23-year old LHP Luis DuArez, and 25-year old minor league RHP Brad Bergren Jr.. "This isn't the biggest deal out there," acknowledged the Pirates, "but it should help out both clubs." Pittsburgh will retain a portion of DuArez's remaining contract. Las Vegas will retain a portion of Sobers's remaining contract. Las Vegas will retain a portion of Correale's remaining contract. This year, DuArez has registered 2 saves in 23 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 0-1 won-lost mark with a 6.00 ERA. In 42 innings he has fanned 43. Correale has made 19 starts so far this year and put up a 5-9 won-lost record with a 4.65 ERA. In 91 innings he has allowed 101 hits, walked 21 and struck out 77. |
