AZL Announces Player of the Week Monday, August 6th, 2029 So far in his young career, Juan Vargas has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Arizona Rookie League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 22-year-old San Diego (AZL) Padres 1 catcher hit at a torrid .500 clip as he collected 9 hits in 18 at-bats, 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored. Currently Vargas is batting .304 with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
