Giants Lose Late, 5-4
|
The New York Mets found a way to sneak past the San Francisco Giants, 5-4, in 10 innings. New York pitcher Dan Cain, for one, had a standout performance. With the win, New York has a record of 29-21. San Francisco falls to 19-30.
The Mets got a clutch hit from right fielder Jonathan Irizarry. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Mets.
