Oakland left fielder Chris Smith had a day to remember, 5-for-6 against the Minnesota Twins at Oakland Coliseum as the Athletics picked up a win, 18-1.

"He was patient up there," Oakland skipper Rise Against told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Smith has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."

Chris Smith doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Andres Figueroa in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Seth Everette in the 8th.
