Angels Move on to Division Series
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Kauffman Stadium as the Wild Card Series stretched to the final game.

It was the Los Angeles Angels feeling the thrill of victory, with a 5-0 win over the Kansas City Royals, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Division Series.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Kansas City manager Mitch Logue. "Congratulations to Los Angeles, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was second baseman Jake Grover, who was named MVP. He hit .412 with a .444 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Los Angeles Angels will play against the Oakland Athletics in the next round. Oakland had a bye in the Wild Card Series. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 11th , 2038.
