Nationals Bang Out 8-6 Win Versus Pittsburgh
The Washington Nationals stopped the Pittsburgh Pirates, 8-6, behind an impressive performance from Brendan Koel. The 23-year old right fielder made life miserable for Pittsburgh pitching. He was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Chad Martin earned the save, his 36th in 48 tries. At 77-72, the Nationals find themselves in third place in the National League East Division.

Washington took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Koel hit a grand slam home run. His 28th home run of the season made the score 6-2, Washington.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Koel said. "We did a good job of that today."
