In a close game at Tropicana Field, the Tampa Bay Rays edged the Washington Nationals, 5-4. Tampa Bay second baseman Bret Hughes stood apart with his performance. He went 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Gabe Fousek, now 10-6, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief.
