Tri-City Win Round 1 | Being named series MVP was little solace for Jose Gomez after the Tri-City Dust Devils eliminated his Everett AquaSox from the playoffs.
Tri-City won the final game 5-2 at John Thurman Field and wrapped up the series 5-2.
"I couldn't care less about an MVP award when we don't even win," Gomez said. "I would rather have played terrible but still had a chance to win the Round 3."
Meanwhile, the Tri-City clubhouse was alive with celebration after the victory, with the team's skipper Jack Santora saying his team is "confident and strong" going into the Round 2.
The Tri-City Dust Devils will play against the Eugene Emeralds in the next round. Eugene had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
