The Bowie Baysox downed the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 16-3. The hitting star was center fielder Jaylen Ferguson. Ferguson went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Baysox. Gray Fenter, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-2. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 4. The Baysox go to 14-18, putting them last in the Southwest Division.
Bowie relied on the hitting of Jared Walker to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Baysox on top, 2-0. For the game, Walker had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ferguson.
