Shewmake Powers Stripers to 8-3 Win
|
The Gwinnett Stripers downed the Nashville Sounds, 8-3, at Coolray Field. The Stripers were led by Braden Shewmake. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. With the win, Gwinnett pushed its record to 27-15.
Gwinnett took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Shewmake hit a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season made the score 3-1, Gwinnett.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Gwinnett skipper Damon Berryhill.
