Sounds Sneak Past Clippers, 7-6
|
The Nashville Sounds picked up a win at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, knocking off the Columbus Clippers, 7-6. Starting pitcher John Richy was a big reason why. Tyler Gillies, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. The Sounds now own a record of 36-38.
The Sounds relied on center fielder Corey Ray for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Ray said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
