Kendall Shines in 7-5 Oklahoma City Win
|
The Oklahoma City Dodgers downed the El Paso Chihuahuas, 7-5, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers were led by Jeren Kendall. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Ricky Knapp snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season. Shea Spitzbarth was credited with the save for Oklahoma City, his 6th of the season.
Oklahoma City took a 6-5 lead on Matt Beaty's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Beaty hit in the bottom of the seventh, left El Paso pitcher Dauris Valdez visibly frustrated.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Kendall told the Oklahoma City News.
El Paso is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
