SeaWolves Get 14-6 Win Versus Bowie
|
The 14-6 Erie win over Bowie was due largely to JaCoby Jones. The SeaWolves center fielder went 1 for 2 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Zack Hess, now 4-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. With the win, Erie upped its record to 39-25.
In the bottom of the seventh, Joey Morgan put Erie in front with a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he rapped a 2-run single, making the score 14-6, SeaWolves.
In comments to the Erie Bulletin, Jones admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
