Streaking SeaWolves Win Another One, 10-1
|
The Erie SeaWolves stopped the Akron RubberDucks, 10-1, behind an impressive performance from Ryan Kreidler. The 25-year old shortstop made life miserable for Akron pitching. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Matt Mikulski, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 9 and walking 2. Erie has now won 6 in a row.
The SeaWolves got an important contribution from designated hitter Andre Lipcius, who in the bottom of the fifth punched a 2-2 changeup into right for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the SeaWolves ahead, 4-0.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Lipcius.
