SeaWolves Edge Past Curve, 8-7 | Both teams had their chances, but the Erie SeaWolves eventually prevailed.
With center fielder Marcus Wilson leading the charge, the Erie SeaWolves defeated the Altoona Curve, 8-7, at People's Natural Gas Field. Wilson, who is tied for 10th in the in runs scored with 68, was 4 for 6 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Erie pitcher Gerson Moreno got the win. He's now 4-2. Wilkin Ramos was tagged with the loss. Wladimir Pinto was credited with the save, his 7th in 10 tries.
The most crucial at-bat for Erie came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Wilson stroked a 2-2 fastball to left for a 2-run single, putting Erie up, 8-7.
"Feels good to get the job done," Wilson said after the game.
The triumph puts Erie at 58-54 for the season.
