Tourists Turn Away Hot Rods, 5-3 | Good production from left fielder Justin Ellison helped the Asheville Tourists topple the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 5-3. Ellison went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Tourists. Asheville starter Alfredi Jimenez was credited with the win after throwing 81 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Luis Garcia earned the save, his 2nd, for the Tourists.
With Asheville leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Ellison hit a 2-run single off Bowling Green hurler Wikelman Ramirez. It was the 13th hit of the season for Ellison and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Ellison told the Asheville News.
The victory makes Asheville 9-11.
