Late Rally by Loons Seals 4th Straight Win

The Great Lakes Loons topped the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 2-0, in Midwest League action at Lake Elsinore Diamond. The game was highlighted by the performance of Great Lakes pitcher Carson Montgomery. The winner in relief was Nick Robertson. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. The 4th-place Loons have won 4 straight games.
The result might have been different for Great Lakes, had it not been for Nick Loftin, the 22-year old shortstop . Loftin stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Great Lakes up, 2-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Great Lakes manager Scooter Tucker.
