| Hernandez, Whitecaps Fall to Loons | The Great Lakes Loons defeated the West Michigan Whitecaps, 15-8. Doing his part was right fielder Adrian Hernandez, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 triples, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The win was credited to Ryan Pepiot in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Angel Felipe took the loss. The third-place Whitecaps have dropped 6 straight games.
It could have been a different outcome for Great Lakes, had it not been for Griffin Lockwood-Powell, the 23-year old catcher . Lockwood-Powell contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Great Lakes up, 8-7.
"Feels good to get the job done," Lockwood-Powell said after the game.
