Hillcats Topple Shorebirds with Late Rally
The Lynchburg Hillcats overcame a fine performance by Delmarva shortstop Aiverson Rodriguez to defeat the Shorebirds, 6-4, at Perdue Stadium. Rodriguez was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Nick Pantos picked up the save for Lynchburg, his 5th of the year. Delmarva, at 40-30, has lost 5 straight.

Lynchburg relied on the bat of Ethan Murray to get the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hillcats ahead, 6-4. For the game, Murray had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Delmarva manager Justin Mallett.
