Fredericksburg first baseman Jose Bonilla had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bonilla was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Salem beat the Nationals, 8-7. With the win, Salem upped its record to 38-32.

Elias Rios's at-bat in the bottom of the eighth was significant for the Red Sox. Coming to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Salem trailing 7-5, the Red Sox pinch hitter reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 2 runs.

"We found a way to get it done," Rios said.
