5-for-5 Day for Allen
Monday, June 26th , 2023
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Houston (GCL)'s 9-8 win over Toronto (GCL) today, shortstop Marcerio Allen was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at TD Ballpark.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Allen said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Marcerio Allen hit a solo-shot off Carson Applegate in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
So far this year Allen has 4 home runs and a .314 batting average.
