Steve Buschhorn was instrumental in his team's 4-2 triumph over the Bowling Green Hot Rods. The catcher went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk for the Lansing Lugnuts. The winner in relief was Luis González. He is now 2-3. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Nick Paciorek got the save, his 30th in 33 chances.
Steve Teague, who is tied for 5th in the MID with a .429 slugging percentage, contributed to the Lansing win with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Teague told the Lansing Times.
The triumph puts Lansing at 65-63 for the season.
