Ross Excels, But Shorebirds Win
Despite a great performance by West Virginia center fielder Derrick Ross, the Delmarva Shorebirds defeated the Power by the score of 7-6 at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Ross went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Tony Salas earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. His record is now 2-1. Picking up the save was Timmy Manning, his 17th.

In the bottom of the sixth, Delmarva first baseman Jaime Castillo had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Castillo stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 7-6, Delmarva. For the game, he was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
