Fireflies Lose to Tourists in Walk Off
|
Starting pitcher Ricardo Zapata pitched well enough to help the Asheville Tourists beat the Columbia Fireflies, 5-4. Jonathan Diebler came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The first-place Tourists have won 6 straight games.
The Tourists procured the win, in large part because of center fielder Michael Wright. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Winning never gets dull," said Wright.
