The exploits of second baseman Will Altmyer helped the West Virginia Power defeat the Asheville Tourists, 8-2. Altmyer went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4. West Virginia pitcher Bradley Huggins got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Cade Chambers got the loss. West Virginia is now 60-51, Asheville 73-39.

Angel Genao had a big hit for West Virginia in the bottom of the fifth inning. With West Virginia leading 1-0, Genao hit a 2-run double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Power up, 3-0.

"I still think this team can play even better," Genao told the West Virginia Gazette.
