Tourists Collect 4-1 Win Over Suns
|
The Asheville Tourists dealt the Hagerstown Suns a 4-1 loss at Municipal Stadium. Chance Ferniz was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Sam Keating converted his 35th save in 40 tries. The losses continue to pile up for Hagerstown, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
Asheville used the timely hitting of Kane Payne to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Tourists on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Hagerstown manager Bobby Wilson.
