Shorebirds Fall Short, 7-6, at West Virginia
Both teams had their chances, but the West Virginia Power eventually prevailed.

The West Virginia Power trumped the Delmarva Shorebirds, 7-6, at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia shortstop Steven Johnson was terrific. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI. West Virginia pitcher Raúl Bernal got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Kelsey Reilly got the loss.

Johnson had an important at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Power went on to win.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Power manager Tyler Pastornicky. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

The win elevated the Power to 69-58.
