Berenger Slugs Grasshoppers to 6-2 Win
The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Columbia Fireflies by the score of 6-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Jack Berenger. Berenger hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Grasshoppers on the day. Greensboro reliever Patrick Christie picked up the win to move to 4-1. Brent Pickett suffered the loss. The Fireflies, at 56-77, have lost 8 in a row.

Karl Parrish went 1-1 with 2 walks for Greensboro. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brent Pickett. It was his 36th RBI of the season.

"It was a solid team effort," said Parrish after the game.
