With right fielder Tyler Shedler-McAvoy leading the charge, the Asheville Tourists defeated the Lexington Legends, 9-3, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Shedler-McAvoy, who is tied for 7th in the SAL with a .370 on-base percentage, was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win puts Asheville at 83-48 this season.
In the top of the first of a scoreless game, Shedler-McAvoy hit a solo home run to put his team ahead.
"We maximized our offense today," said Asheville skipper Al Richardson. "That makes everyone's life easier."
