The Dayton Dragons got a superb performance from pitcher Ian Ritchie. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Lansing. The Lugnuts won the game, 3-2. Ritchie threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Nick Paciorek notched his 33rd save in 36 chances. The win elevated the Lugnuts to 68-67.

Lansing used a timely hit from Andrew Johnson to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lugnuts ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Dayton skipper Alex Gordon.
