The Giants grabbed a win, 4-3, at San Jose Municipal Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Lake Elsinore pitcher Clint Myers. Myers went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. San Jose reliever Denny Larrondo was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Luis Meléndez took the loss. The win puts San Jose at 79-52 this season.

The Giants procured the win, in large part because of first baseman José Hernández. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.

"I like what I saw today," said San Jose manager Chris Tracz, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
