The Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 4-1, in Southern League action at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Montgomery pitcher Brandon Smith had a standout performance. With the win, Montgomery upped its record to 64-53.

In the top of the ninth, Austin Barnes stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Blue Wahoos were trailing 4-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Conor Grammes made a terrific pitch and Barnes popped out. Gone was the dream of a Pensacola comeback.
