Corbin Leads Blue Wahoos to Win
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos beat the Tennessee Smokies by a score of 12-9. Pensacola third baseman Barry Corbin deserved the lion's share of the credit. Corbin went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Blue Wahoos. Reliever Zach Maxwell picked up the win. His record improves to 2-3. Kevin Guzik took the loss. David Rhodes was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 29 of 32 save opportunities.

Corbin had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 cutter from Kevin Guzik, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Blue Wahoos a 10-9 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Corbin.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Shawn Stiffler.

The victory gives Pensacola a record of 72-59.
