Braves Pull Off Thrilling 4-1 Win in Extras
|
Tennessee got a terrific performance from pitcher Carson Beck, but it wasn't enough to beat the Mississippi Braves. Mississippi won the Smokies Park contest, 4-1. Beck threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The South-leading Braves have a record of 83-56.
Mississippi needed the clutch hitting of Cris Sánchez to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Braves on top, 3-1. For the game, Sánchez had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Sánchez.
