Astros Knock Off Athletics at Allegiant Field
The Houston (LV) Astros topped the Oakland (LV) Athletics by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Joey Loynd. Loynd went 3-4 with 2 doubles for the Astros on the day. Getting the save was Miguel Madrigal, his 1st. The Astros now have a record of 11-25.

José Sepúlveda dealt the Athletics a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Houston (LV) leading 4-3, Sepúlveda hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.

Sepúlveda expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
