Muckdogs Buried By Brooklyn, 18-1
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones topped the Batavia Muckdogs by the score of 18-1, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Chase Nixon. Nixon was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Cyclones. Austin Krob picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 9 in 6.1 innings. The win puts Brooklyn at 31-23 this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Brooklyn, had it not been for Caleb Bramwell, the 24-year old catcher . Bramwell contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Brooklyn up, 3-0.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Brooklyn manager Randy Tomlin.
