Surprise Stadium was the site for Arizona League action featuring the Peoria (SD) Padres and Goodyear (CLE) Indians.

The Goodyear (CLE) Indians stymied the Peoria (SD) Padres, 6-2, at Surprise Stadium. Thomas Fidone had a good day at the plate. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Goodyear (CLE). Jacob Zibin earned the win for Goodyear (CLE). He lasted 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0.

Fidone contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Goodyear (CLE) in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Fidone took a changeup from Travis Adams and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Indians to leap in front, 3-1.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Goodyear (CLE) manager Ryan Long.

At 9-9, the Indians are currently second in the Central.
