Scottsdale (SF) center fielder Wyatt Langford helped his team beat the Goodyear (CIN) Reds, 3-2. Langford went 2 for 3 for the Giants. Blaine Quick, now 2-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Zane Morehouse earned the save, his 1st.
Caleb Beamer, the 22-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Beamer contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Scottsdale (SF) up, 3-2.
"It was a good effort all around," said Langford.
The third-place Giants have won 6 consecutive games.
