Freili Encarnacion left his imprint on the 4-2 Goodyear (CIN) win against the Phoenix Brewers. Encarnacion, who is tied for 8th in the ARL in home runs with 4, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Isaiah Coupet, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits. Ramón Fernández recorded the save, his 8th.
Encarnacion had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Chase Meyer, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Reds a 4-2 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Encarnacion.
"We did enough to win," said Encarnacion.
At 12-16, the Reds are currently 4th in the Central.
