Northwest Arkansas and Springfield duked it out and the Naturals came out victorious.

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals overcame a fine performance by Springfield first baseman Jordan Westburg to defeat the Cardinals, 8-5, at Hammons Field. Westburg was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The third-place Naturals are now 53-55, the Cardinals 40-68.

Northwest Arkansas used a well-timed hit by Jorge Calpán to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Naturals ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Calpán told the Northwest Arkansas Chronicle.
