Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Giants
The Giants grabbed a win, 6-2, at Surprise Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Surprise (KC) pitcher Colton Cross. Cross went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Scottsdale (SF) reliever Carlos Rodriguez was the winner. His record is now 4-3. Carter Smolinski took the loss. With the win, Scottsdale (SF) upped its record to 41-25.

Scottsdale (SF) used the timely hitting of Andrew Wiggins to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Giants on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Wiggins told the Scottsdale (SF) Gazette.
