Mets fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The Port St. Lucie Mets faced a tough opponent in Tampa (NYY) pitcher Cole Schoenwetter, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tradition Field by a final score of 7-6. Schoenwetter went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Port St. Lucie reliever Nick Sinacola was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Noah Dean.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Port St. Lucie shortstop Grayson Clark, facing Noah Dean, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Mets the 7-6 win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Clark told the Port St. Lucie Times.
Tampa (NYY) now has a 6-game losing streak.
