Lake Elsinore Wins Again, 3-1
|
The Lake Elsinore Storm moved to within one game of the Championship today, downing the High Desert Mavericks on the road at BB&T Coastal Field by a score of 3-1. Storm right-hander Zane Mills had a strong outing. He threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Storm a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.
Lake Elsinore relied on the bat of Aaron Bracho to get the win. The first baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Storm ahead, 2-1. For the game, Bracho had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Mills, "and then get after it again."
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Lake Elsinore Diamond in Lake Elsinore.
