Northwest Arkansas Breaks Through for First Win in Championship; Now Trails 2-1
Behind a bravura effort from starter Brody Byfield, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals topped the Frisco RoughRiders by the score of 3-2 today and got their first win in the 2024 Championship. Byfield threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the Naturals. The win narrows Northwest Arkansas's deficit to 2-1.

Had it not been for Shane Gillespie, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Naturals were trailing 2-1, Gillespie hit a 2-run double for Northwest Arkansas, giving his team the lead.

"We put together a nice win," Byfield said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale.
