Dodgers Advance to Quarterfinal
The Los Angeles (LV) Dodgers were counting on Braeden Mahaney to put forward a strong performance in the Day 2 at Green Valley Field. He certainly delivered.

With a solid 5.2 innings, Mahaney earned MVP honors as his team beat the Tampa Bay (LV) Rays 3-2 to advance to the Quarterfinal.

"I tried to just think of it as any other game," said the Los Angeles (LV) starter. "But if we lose, we go home and I'd be lying if I said that didn't keep crossing my mind. That's motivation, for sure."

Mahaney also had 1 strikeout, while allowing 3 hits, 1 walk and 1 run.

While he wasn't willing to concede that the Dodgers are a superior team overall, Tampa Bay (LV) manager Matt LeCroy gave credit to Los Angeles (LV) for putting their best foot forward in a one-game format.

"They beat us straight up, that's all there is to it," he said.

The Quarterfinal matchups and schedule will be announced after the Day 2 finishes.
