Port St. Lucie Breaks Through for First Win in Championship; Now Trails 2-1
Behind a bravura effort from starter Jared Matheson, the Port St. Lucie Mets topped the Lake Nona Rockies by the score of 4-0 today and got their first win in the 2024 Championship. Matheson threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball for the Mets. The win narrows Port St. Lucie's deficit to 2-1.

In the bottom of the second, Port St. Lucie designated hitter Kemp Alderman had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Alderman stroked a 3-run home run to left-center. It made the score 3-0, Port St. Lucie. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Alderman said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tradition Field in Saranac.
