Almost There: Lake Nona On Cusp of Championship Triumph After 2-1 Win
The rookie looked like he belonged out there.

The Lake Nona Rockies sent 20-year-old right-hander Roberto Aranda to the mound today for a high-pressure playoff start and he repaid their confidence, quieting the Port St. Lucie Mets on a day where the Rockies struggled to produce runs of their own. In the end, Lake Nona cobbled together enough to take the 2-1 decision. The win gave Lake Nona a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Championship.

The result might have been different for Lake Nona, had it not been for Tre Phelps, the 20-year old first baseman . Phelps stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Lake Nona up, 2-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Rockies manager A.J. Ellis said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tradition Field in Saranac.
