Pavolony, Pelicans Sink Dash Again in Game 2
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans moved to within one game of the Championship today, downing the visiting Winston-Salem Dash at Jackie Robinson Ballpark by a score of 11-6. Pelicans catcher Connor Pavolony did some major damage. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win gives the Pelicans a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Dylan Crews, the Myrtle Beach designated hitter, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 8-6, Pelicans. For the game, Crews was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"I like easy wins," Pavolony told the Myrtle Beach Observer. "And easy wins in the playoffs are even better."

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 12th , 2023 at New Winston-Salem Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
